Real Baccarat Rules

Real Baccarat with Courtney is played at a traditional bean-shaped baccarat table with an eight-deck card shoe and two areas marked Player and Banker. As the player, your task is to predict which of these positions will come out on top. To determine the outcome, Courtney deals a hand of two cards face up to each position. The winner is the hand with a value closest to nine. Cards two through nine have face value; aces have a value of one; and 10, jack, queen, and king cards are worth zero. If the cards total more than nine, you add them together and drop the first digit. For example, a pair of nines would add up to 18. Drop the first digit, and you have eight.

If the Player or Banker hand totals eight or nine, both stand. If the Player hand totals five or less, Player receives another card. Otherwise, Player stands.
